Veterans Charity Ride

SLC to Moab, UT

The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to escort a number of veterans from Salt Lake City to Moab for Veterans Charity Ride on Thursday, July 25, 2019.

Veterans Charity Ride (VCR) is a non-profit organization that uses Motorcycle Therapy and other life changing, life saving holistic programs that provide uplifting and healing experiences for wounded, severely injured and amputee veterans from all the branches of service.

Every year, VCR takes wounded and amputee veterans on motorcycles, custom built sidecars and trikes from Los Angeles to the Sturgis Bike Rally in South Dakota for an Adventure of a Lifetime! In 2015, eight veterans made the trip. In 2016 VCR expanded the program to include twenty veterans. In 2017, the ride to Sturgis took another twenty veterans on this epic journey.

The veterans will spend nine days riding on America’s most beautiful back roads and highways, getting to know each other and helping each other with motorcycle therapy and veteran to veteran discussions. The shared experience of serving brings them together, veteran to veteran, to help each other heal. They’ll also show the veterans just how much their service means to America, by stopping in small towns along the way to meet the grateful people of our nation who want to welcome and celebrate these brave men and women. Along the way they surprise the riders with excursions and meet with interesting and inspiring people.

The ride will be leaving from Veterans Memorial Park in West Jordan at 9:00 AM on Thursday, July 25, 2019. The first stop will be around 10:00 AM in Kamas for a fuel stop. A lunch is planned in Duchesne at Cowan’s Café at approximately 11:30 AM. There will be a stop for fuel in Wellington around 2:00 PM, then again around 3:30 PM in Green River. The ride will pause at Moab Giants from 4:30-5:00 PM & then ride into Moab at 5:30 PM.

If you would like to join in at any of these locations please do so. They would love to have you along.
